When a scientist describes his finding, his hypothesis, his null-hypothesis, his data, and his conclusion, "respect for those who may find it upsetting" is not only illogical to hold and consider but non-trivial to realise as an abstract concept isn't it? Like how Voltaire upset the church which his electricity? How could he know it would be upsetting to say an apple fell off a tree etc?
